Compliance Chain has become a Recognised Assessment Body, demonstrating their capability to certify companies against Build UK’s Common Assessment Standard.
The construction software platform already prequalifies their subcontractor and main contractor members against health and safety requirements, offering free SSIP assessments to all silver and gold members.
To add to its overall offering, Compliance Chain will now certify gold members against the Common Assessment Standard, where they successfully meet the requirements.
The Common Assessment Standard is a key certification aimed at streamlining and standardising the pre-qualification process, with many major contractors across the UK specifying it for their supply chains. The government’s Procurement Policy Notice (PPN) 03/24 encourages wider use of the Common Assessment Standard to ensure all suppliers are assessed on the same criteria.
Build UK developed the Common Assessment Standard to improve efficiency, reduce cost and raise quality standards for the entire supply chain during the PQ process. Data can be shared with other recognised assessment bodies to reduce the need to complete multiple assessments.
Compliance Chain offers a Desktop Assessment against the Common Assessment Standard via their Gold Supplier Membership, which allows suppliers to demonstrate their compliance practically and efficiently.
Both public and private sector clients (buyers) who use Compliance Chain to manage their own supply chain can request that suppliers be certified against the Common Assessment Standard, which will be undertaken as part of the onboarding process.
